Former officer jailed after allegedly doing more than 350 Flock searches of same license plate

A former Florida police officer named Cory Waiters has been arrested and fired following an investigation into the alleged misuse of law enforcement databases. He faces felony charges including offenses against users of computers, computer systems, and official misconduct for repeatedly searching a license plate through Flock. Investigators allege Waiters improperly accessed both the Driver and Vehicle Information Database (DAVID) and the Flock system, even when he was not actively working on a criminal investigation involving the vehicle.
