Gordie Howe International Bridge opens free walking and bike path between Detroit and Canada
The Gordie Howe International Bridge opened a free multi-use walking and bike path between Detroit and Canada, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to cross the international span. The path, 1.5 miles long with a 5% grade, connects border inspection booths 1.8 miles apart and requires standard travel documents. Hundreds of people participated in the inaugural crossing, including members of the Gordie Howe International Bike Club.
