Canadian hockey sticks, wine and cement subject to new Trump tariffs
President Donald Trump imposed 50% tariffs on Canadian products including hockey sticks, wine, and cement in response to Canada's restrictions on U.S. goods. The tariffs, effective August 19, use Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930, a provision previously unused. The move follows earlier tariffs under the International Economic Emergency Powers Act, which were overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
