Alabama public schools will be required to display the Ten Commandments and other historical documents in history classrooms and common areas starting January 1, 2027, under Senate Bill 99. Schools are not obligated to pay for the displays, which can be funded through donations.

A Montana district court ordered the state to pay $1.3 million in attorneys’ fees after a lawsuit challenged Senate Bill 99, an unconstitutional ban on gender-affirming care for transgender minors. The court ruled the law violated the Montana Constitution and held the state responsible for the financial burden of defending it.
