Court orders state to pay more than $1.3M in attorneys’ fees in gender-affirming care case
A Montana district court ordered the state to pay $1.3 million in attorneys’ fees after a lawsuit challenged Senate Bill 99, an unconstitutional ban on gender-affirming care for transgender minors. The court ruled the law violated the Montana Constitution and held the state responsible for the financial burden of defending it.
