Charlotte City Council is considering a proposal for a 9 p.m. curfew for individuals under 18, which was supported by the majority of councilmembers present. A WBTV investigation found Charlotte councilmembers spent taxpayer funds on trips they did not attend or had questionable ties to city business. Councilmember Renee Johnson spent $4,675 on brain injury conferences, while Councilman James 'Smuggie' Mitchell incurred $2,488 in costs for cancelled trips to Boston and a municipal conference.
