DOJ maneuver on unconfirmed US attorneys inches closer to Supreme Court
A legal maneuver used by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to install acting U.S. attorneys without Senate approval may be moving closer to the Supreme Court. Two appeals court panels ruled that the DOJ cannot bypass the confirmation process by changing an individual’s title or assigning them the duties of top prosecutor.
