Stray bullet kills mother eating ice cream with daughter in truck, police say

Karla Abarca was shot and killed by a stray bullet while waiting at an intersection in Las Vegas with her daughter, Lisa. The shooting resulted from an escalating confrontation involving suspect Francisco Chairez-Hernandez, who had been actively inhaling nitrous oxide gas. Chairez-Hernandez fled the scene but later returned and confessed to police that he went back to search for his ring.
