States, cities try to keep ICE out of schools
More than a dozen states have enacted laws to keep ICE away from schools, but an incident in Baltimore demonstrated the limits of state authority when federal agents conducted raids near educational facilities. ICE agents arrested Jesus Acevedo Sanchez and detained his wife outside Commodore John Rodgers Elementary/Middle School; subsequently, a federal judge ruled that the officers lacked probable cause for the arrest.
