Deputies search Catawba River in connection with Hickory woman’s disappearance
Catawba County deputies are searching the Catawba River for Robin Doyle, a missing Hickory woman, with Leroy Loper identified as a person of interest. Investigators found a bra and zip-ties at Doyle’s home and in Loper’s red Kia Optima, which was linked to him via a Flock camera. Loper, a registered sex offender with prior convictions for sexual offenses and kidnapping, is being held on a $200,000 bond while the FBI assists in the search.
