Missing woman ‘possibly kidnapped,’ Catawba County officials say after sex offender arrested

A 58-year-old woman from Catawba County is reported missing and possibly kidnapped, with a registered sex offender arrested. Leroy Allen Loper, 54, was charged with unrelated sex offender registry violations and previously convicted of kidnapping and a sexual offense. Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating his movements between July 27-29.
