Man survives month at sea after mast breaks during solo sail across Pacific
Kai Sato, a 39-year-old California man, survived over a month at sea after his mast broke during a solo sail across the Pacific. He drifted toward Hawaii, repaired his sails with makeshift tools, ran out of water, and was eventually rescued by a Pasha Hawaii ship. Sato is now planning a future sail to the Philippines in a larger boat.
