Colombia’s Petro calls on supporters to defend economic reforms in his last presidential speech

Outgoing Colombian President Gustavo Petro urged supporters to defend his economic reforms and resist changes to labor laws by the incoming administration. Petro accused Israel and the United States of interfering in Colombia’s election and claimed vote tallies were rigged with Israeli software, which Colombia’s electoral authorities dismissed. Incoming president-elect Abelardo de la Espriella, a conservative lawyer, plans to cut government spending and revise labor laws to allow hourly hiring.
