Cuban dissident artist Otero Alcantara lands in US exile
Prominent Cuban dissident artist Luis Manuel Otero Alcantara arrived in the United States after serving a five-year prison sentence for insulting national symbols, contempt, and disturbing public order, following his 2022 sentencing. Washington urged Havana to release over 700 political prisoners, including Otero Alcantara, who was designated a prisoner of conscience by Amnesty International.
