Former aide alleges Denver council member discriminated and retaliated

Divenia Johnson, a former Denver City Council aide, filed a federal lawsuit against Councilmember Flor Alvidrez and the city of Denver, alleging race-, gender-, and age-based discrimination and a hostile work environment. Alvidrez declined to comment on the allegations, while the city attorney’s office and Johnson’s attorney also did not respond. The lawsuit includes claims of offensive remarks targeting Johnson’s age, race, and religion, as well as preferential treatment for white male employees.
