Defunct Hong Kong bakery chain fined HK$251,800 over unpaid wages
A defunct Hong Kong bakery chain, Taipan Bread & Cakes, and its parent company Vast Luck were fined HK$251,800 for failing to pay over HK$1.3 million in wages and entitlements to 47 employees after closing all outlets in June last year. A liquidator pleaded guilty to 96 charges under the Employment Ordinance at Kowloon City Court.
