Scientists at biotech company Kindred Companion Sciences used CRISPR gene editing to create two hypoallergenic beagles named Alfie and Bailey by removing the gene responsible for a key allergy-causing protein in their saliva and hair. The development represents a potential future option for people with dog allergies, though commercial availability has not yet been established.
