Gene-edited beagles may offer a future option for people with dog allergies

Scientists created hypoallergenic beagles using CRISPR gene editing, removing a key allergy-causing protein from their saliva and hair. The dogs, Alfie and Bailey, were developed by Kindred Companion Sciences, but commercial availability remains years away due to health monitoring and ethical concerns.
