Hong Kong’s weather forecaster has issued an amber rainstorm signal, warning of severe downpours and serious flooding in Yuen Long. Hourly rainfall in the northwestern New Territories district is expected to exceed 100mm.

Hong Kong police seized HK$120 million worth of suspected cocaine hidden in three heavy-metal containers at a warehouse in northern Hong Kong, leading to the arrest of three men. The containers were found in a 3,000 sq ft tin-sheet warehouse on Kung Um Road in Yuen Long, with officers discovering the suspects attempting to cut open two containers.

A 41-year-old mainland Chinese man was arrested by Hong Kong police for impersonating a registered ride-hailing driver and working in violation of his visa conditions. A 24-year-old local man was also arrested during an undercover operation in Yuen Long and Sheung Shui.

A 54-year-old Hong Kong man died after losing control of an electric bike and falling from an unloading platform in Yuen Long. The incident was discovered over five hours later when police found him unconscious with head and hand injuries and pronounced him dead.

A 64-year-old Hong Kong resident reported suspected airgun damage to her flat window in Shek Ping House, Long Ping Estate in Yuen Long after finding a 2mm steel pellet on her bed. Police are investigating the incident, and a district councillor has warned that similar incidents may have occurred in the same public housing estate.

A 10-vehicle pile-up occurred on Hong Kong's Tuen Mun Road during Thursday morning rush hour, injuring at least one man. The collision happened near Sham Tseng Fire Station on the Yuen Long-bound fast lane at 7:47am during an amber rainstorm warning, with a private car driver in his 30s sustaining hand injuries from airbag deployment.
