Non-stop summer rain leaves Hong Kong farmers with heavy losses as crops fail
Hong Kong farmers have incurred six-figure losses due to extreme summer rains since May, with a Yuen Long farm experiencing seven-hour flooding during recent downpours. Sunflower crops at Shun Sum Yuen farm were ruined, and July's precipitation exceeded normal levels by 23%, according to farmer Leung Yat-shun, who described the impact as a 'severe blow' to the industry.
