Arizona is creating new ponds in the White Mountains to aid the recovery of the Chiricahua leopard frog, a species listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. The Arizona Game and Fish Department and the Amphibian and Reptile Conservancy are collaborating on the project, which aims to counter population decline caused by drought and climate change.

A 61-year-old Massachusetts hiker, Kent Wood, was found dead in New Hampshire’s White Mountains after a snowstorm left him unprepared for severe weather. He was discovered on the Kinsman Pond Trail in Franconia Notch, approximately 5.5 miles from his vehicle, following a two-day search involving multiple agencies.
