- 70 students return home after being stranded in Afghanistan
Around 70 medical students stranded in Afghanistan returned to Pakistan after border restrictions were temporarily lifted following intervention by local political leaders, including Sherin Khan Afridi of the Awami National Party. The students had been unable to cross the Torkham border due to pedestrian movement restrictions in place since October 2025.

The Peshawar-Torkham Highway reopened after Sultan Khel tribesmen blocked it to protest targeted killings in their area. Two residents were killed, prompting protests against Zaka Khel elders and government authorities. A negotiating committee formed to address security concerns and demands for stricter road safety measures, while agreeing to end a polio vaccination boycott and reopen schools.
