DVAC conducted searches at premises linked to former DMK Minister Senthilbalaji in Karur. The searches are related to alleged malpractices in the sales and supply of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor at TASMAC outlets during the previous DMK regime.

Tasmac bars are now permitted to operate within 100 meters of liquor shops. This policy change aims to boost participation in the tender process and eliminate the monopoly of a few operators who have controlled bar contracts for years.

TASMAC will procure beer and IMFS equally from all suppliers, changing from a previous practice where liquor was sourced from select manufacturers based on which party held power.

Tasmac is considering adding a ₹10 refundable deposit to the MRP as part of a liquor bottle buyback scheme. The proposal has been forwarded to the government after obtaining a legal opinion from the Advocate General.
