A 12-year-old Connecticut girl, Eve Rogers, died with a lethal dose of diphenhydramine (Benadryl) in her system. Toxicology reports showed 23,000 ng/ml of the drug, far exceeding adult lethal thresholds. Investigators found a nearly empty bottle of diphenhydramine HCL 50 mg capsules in the basement and detected fluoxetine (Prozac) in her system, though she had not been prescribed it.
