- Mamdani not called to speak at NYC funeral of Army sergeant killed in Iranian attack: report
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was denied the opportunity to speak at the funeral of Army Sgt. Angel Sarah Rampersad, killed in an Iranian attack in Jordan. Rampersad's family reportedly chose not to include Mamdani to avoid political distractions. Two other U.S. service members, 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, were also killed in the attack.

Fort Carson officials are holding a memorial for Sgt. Devin A. Seibel, a 26-year-old soldier killed during a training accident in Iraq on May 31. Seibel, assigned to the 2nd battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Carson, died alongside British soldier Lance Corporal James Freeman at Erbil Air Base.
