- New police division to serve northeast Charlotte
The Charlotte City Council approved spending $3.75 million to purchase land for a new Northeast Division station. This facility will be located at the corner of W.T. Harris Boulevard and Old Statesville Road, as part of plans to split the current North Division into Northwest and Northeast Divisions.
- $4.88M contract awarded to replace Huntersville bridge
The North Carolina Department of Transportation awarded Mecklenburg County a $4.88 million contract to replace a bridge on Asbury Chapel Road over South Prong Clark Creek. Contractor NJR Group Inc. will lead the project, which is expected to begin as early as December 2026 and conclude by December 2027, with potential landscaping work extending into spring 2028.
