The National Testing Agency (NTA) was established in 2017 as a registered society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, rather than through a parliamentary act. This structure means the NTA operates without a codified liability standard toward the candidates it examines.

The NEET UG 2026 re-exam in Hyderabad was conducted smoothly with 89.34% attendance. Out of 27,954 registered candidates, 24,973 appeared, while 2,981 were absent. The exam followed National Testing Agency guidelines strictly.
