Hong Kong's new Basic Housing Units Ordinance has resulted in 35 families facing eviction from subdivided shoebox flats within 2.5 months of implementation. Housing Secretary Winnie Ho Wing-yin reported that an additional 40 households from Yee Wa Building in Sham Shui Po are still considering their options after facing eviction pressures.
