The Israeli army claimed to have killed Hamas commander Yahya Saeed Muhammad Hamdan in a strike on southern Gaza. Hamdan, head of the Qassam Brigades Nukhba Forces unit, was allegedly involved in the 7 October 2023 attacks on Israel. Hamas has not yet commented on the report but confirmed its spokesperson Hazem Qassem survived an Israeli attack west of Gaza City.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem survived an Israeli air strike that targeted his car west of Gaza City. His bodyguard was killed in the attack, and six people were killed in Israeli shelling across Gaza on Thursday. Since October 2023, over 73,118 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas announced the dissolution of its Gaza governing body to transition power to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), a technocratic committee. The move follows a 2025 US-brokered ceasefire with Israel but remains stalled over unresolved issues like Hamas's disarmament and Israeli military presence in Gaza.

A Trump-backed Gaza security force, the Board of Peace, announced the arrival of tactical vehicles near Gaza as part of logistical preparations for a multinational force deployment. Yemen’s Houthi-led foreign ministry and Palestinian armed groups praised Iran’s missile strikes on Israeli targets, framing the attacks as retaliation for Israeli actions in Lebanon and the region. Groups highlighted regional coordination among anti-Israel forces and described the strikes as acts of solidarity with Lebanon and resistance to Israeli military operations.

Hamas accused Israel of attacking a tent camp in Gaza City, killing at least five people, and undermining a US-brokered ceasefire agreement. Israel has continued bombing Gaza since the deal's implementation, which Hamas claims turns the truce into a tool of pressure against Palestinians.
