The Godavari drinking water project in Nidadavolu has begun, aiming to supply water from the Godavari River via Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage to every household in the municipality by January 2028, as announced by Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh.

This pollution threatens the river's ecosystem and forces four lakh residents to rely on alternative water sources, while traditional fisherfolk avoid the river for basic needs.

Pawan Kalyan has ordered notices to be issued to Andhra Paper Limited for polluting the Godavari river. The action addresses environmental violations linked to the company's activities.

Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has directed District Collectors to ensure that 268 gram panchayats do not discharge sewage into the Godavari River during the 'Godavari Pushkaralu' event next year. The focus is on making the religious festival pollution-free.
