FTC Act

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and state attorneys general from Alaska, Iowa, Nebraska, and Texas filed a lawsuit against the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), accusing it of misleading claims about the safety and efficacy of pediatric gender-affirming treatments. WPATH responded by alleging the FTC is retaliating against its First Amendment-protected speech and overstepping its jurisdiction. A prior court ruling blocked the FTC from obtaining documents, citing potential retaliation.

StubHub has agreed to pay $10 million to settle FTC allegations that it engaged in deceptive ticket pricing by failing to disclose all fees upfront. The FTC accused the company of violating the FTC Act and its Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees through misleading advertising practices.
