    Coffee isn’t the heart risk doctors once thought, with one big caveat

    A new statement from the American Heart Association indicates that for most adults, moderate caffeine intake from coffee appears safe and may be linked to cardiovascular benefits. The group established a typical upper limit of 400 milligrams of caffeine per day as generally safe, while warning against high doses found in energy drinks. Furthermore, black caffeinated coffee was specifically linked to a lower risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
