A 31-year-old man from Aventura was arrested after police alleged he secretly communicated with his ex-girlfriend’s 11-year-old daughter for weeks, attempting to lure her into a meeting without parental knowledge. Investigators found messages where he encouraged secrecy, offered gifts, and undermined the mother’s authority, prompting an undercover operation that led to his arrest on July 29 when he arrived at a scheduled meeting.

A body was found near the emergency room entrance of HCA Florida Aventura Hospital. Police are investigating to determine if the individual was dumped, died while seeking care, or was harmed on hospital property. 7News is seeking additional details from local authorities.

Aventura police released bodycam video showing the arrest of Roberto Araujo, who allegedly hit William Rodriguez with a metal bat during a softball game on June 21. Araujo was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon but has since been released from jail while facing the felony charge.

Pappy Tina Miller, a woman with a long criminal history in Miami-Dade County, is facing four felony charges after allegedly pepper-spraying a loss prevention employee during a robbery at a Nordstrom Rack store in Aventura. Authorities said she stole nearly $1,800 worth of items while on probation and fled the scene before being arrested later.
