Area A

Israel is determined to maintain its military presence in southern Lebanon despite a deal with Iran. The IDF is holding territory in the region, with plans for a permanent base in Area A's Jenin.

Two Israeli soldiers were injured, one seriously, in a blast as the IDF prepared to establish its first permanent post in Jenin, Area A, which is intended to be fully controlled by the Palestinian Authority.

Twenty-three deaf and mute Israelis were detained by Palestinian security forces in Nablus, an Area A city restricted to Israelis, after being invited for lunch. They were later transferred to Israeli forces following their extraction.
