Massachusetts' Office of Campaign and Political Finance (OCPF) has introduced a new interpretation of campaign finance rules requiring nonprofits discussing public policy near elections to disclose donors or cease communications. The Fiscal Alliance Foundation discovered this change after being informed by OCPF that identical advertisements about a vocational school project, previously not requiring donor disclosure, would now trigger such requirements ahead of a 2026 revote.
