NYPD arrested 16 individuals for carrying firearms during and after the Bronx's Dominican Day Parade, including a 19-year-old teen with a loaded defaced assault rifle. The arrests occurred amid the aftermath of a fatal shooting that killed 12-year-old Jacob Freytes, son of a retired NYPD lieutenant, and led to the recovery of 15 additional guns. Murder rates in the Bronx decreased overall but rose sharply in the 46th Precinct.

Two men were slashed at William Howard Taft High School in the Bronx on July 27, leaving one with a left arm injury and another with a minor hand laceration. A teenage male suspect, described as wearing black clothing and a backpack, remains at large. The Department of Education condemned the incident and confirmed additional support for the school.

A 45-year-old Bronx man, William Ferrer, was arrested for fatally shooting a 12-year-old boy, Jacob Freytes, and injuring two others outside a Bronx deli. Ferrer was taken into custody by detectives outside the 44th Precinct after his arrest in connection with the incident.

A Bronx woman faces murder and manslaughter charges for allegedly stabbing her friend to death during an argument in their home. The victim, a 31-year-old woman, was found with fatal stab wounds and pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital. Police arrested Lexus Bullock, 27, at the scene and booked her on charges including murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

A 74-year-old woman was assaulted in the Bronx after a dispute over a bottle recycling machine. The suspect, described as wearing a blue shirt and black pants, pushed her to the ground and punched her before fleeing. The victim was hospitalized in stable condition, and no arrests have been made.
