- Judge blocks Pinal County Attorney’s rogue ICE deal, says he exceeded his authority
A Maricopa County Superior Court judge ruled that Pinal County Attorney Brad Miller exceeded his authority by unilaterally entering a 287(g) task force agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The agreement, which critics argued would divert local investigators from prosecuting crimes, was blocked after the Pinal County Board of Supervisors and sheriff's office filed a lawsuit, asserting Miller required their approval.
