Cousin of 10-year-old found dead in woods pleads guilty to her murder. Here’s how long he’ll be in prison

Carson Peters-Berger pleaded guilty to first-degree intentional homicide in connection with the 2022 death of his cousin, Lily Peters. Lily disappeared from her aunt’s home in Chippewa Falls, Wis., and was later found dead; an autopsy determined she had been beaten, strangled, and sexually assaulted. Subsequently, Judge Steven Gibbs sentenced Peters-Berger to life in prison with possibility of extended supervision after 25 years.
