Charlotte man accused of mass shooting threats at 5 schools released days before classes begin

Drew Andres Owens was released from the Mecklenburg County Jail on Aug. 22 after being indicted on five felony counts of communicating threats of mass violence at five area public schools. The accusations include threatening West Charlotte High School, Ardrey Kell High School, Community House Middle School, Hawk Ridge Elementary School, and Garinger High School.
