Tourist dies in Death Valley after getting stranded on remote road in 116 degree-heat

A French tourist named Pierre Michel Formosa died in Death Valley National Park after his car became trapped in thick mud on a remote road. Facing extreme heat of 116 degrees Fahrenheit, he and his companion abandoned their vehicle to walk for help across exposed salt flats, but could not continue and was found deceased later that afternoon.
