Violent crash leaves car on fire, trash truck overturned, 1 person dead on Nashville interstate

A deadly interstate crash involving a garbage truck and multiple vehicles occurred early Monday morning near mile marker 221 on I-40 East in Nashville, Tenn. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, with investigators finding a sedan on fire and the garbage truck overturned. All eastbound lanes were shut down for the investigation, requiring traffic diversion off at Stewarts Ferry Pike.
