First group of deportees arrives in troubled Haiti after US ends TPS program
The U.S. deported more than 160 people to Cap-Haitien after ending Temporary Protected Status for many Haitians. The plane landed in Cap-Haitien because Port-au-Prince is considered too dangerous due to ongoing gang violence and the ban on commercial flights. Activists have warned that Haiti lacks sufficient resources to assist those being returned.
