Tesla asked Las Vegas for 5,000 robotaxi permits. Sin City gave it 10, capped the speed at 45mph, and banned airport trips
Tesla applied to the Nevada Transportation Authority for permits for 5,000 autonomous robotaxis in Las Vegas. However, the NTA limited the fleet size to ten vehicles and restricted operations to an approved corridor on The Strip. Permits also capped speed at 45 mph and prohibited passenger pickups within a quarter mile of the airport.
