69 live animals found stuffed in pillowcases in hidden car compartment after border arrest: Feds
A woman was arrested at the U.S.-Mexico border after federal agents discovered 69 live animals, including vipers and caimans, allegedly stuffed inside taped pillowcases in a hidden compartment of her vehicle. The animals were taken to the San Diego Zoo, and prosecutors allege she and her partner were involved in wildlife trafficking over an approximately 18-month undercover investigation.
