Republican who kicked Liz Cheney out of Congress seeks higher office in reddest state

Wyoming Republicans selected Rep. Harriet Hageman as their nominee for U.S. Senate, replacing retiring Republican Sen. Cynthia Lummis. Hageman emerged from a five-way primary contest in Wyoming, which the Cook Political Report ranks as solidly Republican with an R+23 advantage. The general election will see her facing the Democratic nominee.
