Mother accused of putting infant son in scalding-hot water, causing severe burns

Melvinika Williams was arrested in Marrero after being accused of deliberately placing her 1-month-old son in scalding-hot water, which resulted in severe injuries. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that the baby suffered second-degree burns and a broken femur. Williams was charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and filing a false police report.
