Mother accused of putting infant son in scalding-hot water, causing severe burns

Melvinika Williams was accused of deliberately placing her 1-month-old son in scalding-hot water at her home, causing severe second-degree burns to his buttocks and genitals, as well as a broken femur. She was subsequently arrested and booked on charges including second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and filing a false police report. The abuse took place in Marrero, Louisiana.
