Trump administration urges Supreme Court to rule soon on limiting vote-by-mail in midterms
The Trump administration renewed its request for the U.S. Supreme Court to quickly decide on an executive order that would limit vote-by-mail, a measure requiring states to list voters and restrict postal delivery. The urgency increased after U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani issued an injunction blocking the order nationwide just before Election Day. Because of the tight timeline, the judge ruled the executive branch has no authority to regulate elections.
