Ex-Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji, architect of growth, dies of illness at 98

Former Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji died of illness in Beijing, having been 97 years old. He was recognized for igniting China’s economic boom by forcing reforms on state industry and leading the country to join the World Trade Organization (WTO). His efforts propelled China to become a major exporter and helped keep its growth high between 2000-2010.
