Community raises money to help Detroit activist Minister Malik Shabazz with medical bills

Friends and supporters held a fundraiser at the Shrine of the Black Madonna to help Minister Malik Shabazz with medical bills after suffering health challenges, including a massive heart attack in June 2023. Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison stated that the city owes a debt of gratitude to activists like him for keeping it safe. Donations can still be made to Peace in the Streets Inc.
